Photographer Monica Whitt was born and raised in Mexico but has lived in Anchorage with her husband and three children since 1998. Her education and passion for photography began while earning a BA in Communications at Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) in Mexico. Spending most of her career as a graphic designer and website designer, she has always been inspired by many amazing photographers, not to mention the stunning beauty of Alaska. After receiving her professional photography certification with the New York Institute of Photography, she did freelance work and finally landed with Chugach Peaks! Monica says, “I love capturing the essence of people while doing what they love, whether it’s adventuring around Alaska, getting married, or doing both at the same time!” When things slow down for Monica, her favorite activities are spending time with her family, especially hiking, fishing, hunting and camping.
