We do a lot of weddings along the Turnagain Arm, the body of water south of Anchorage. However, there is a secret little gem many people don’t know about. Turnagain Valley Lodge is located in the ideal spot! It’s high above the waterline so you get incredible views of the inlet and the mountains. The lodge has a lovely rustic cabin feel to it, and there are plenty of rooms for people to get ready.
Amber and Zachary have lived in Alaska for about a year, so they invited all of their immediate family members up from the Lower 48 for their Alaska wedding. Zachary’s mom designed all the flowers including the bride’s bouquet and the arrangements around the lodge.
The ceremony was held around 2:30 pm. After family photos, we slipped away for their formal portraits. It’s also a good time for the bride and groom to enjoy some special moments as husband and wife. We meandered around the shoreline, jumped some rocks, and danced on a sandy beach. I’m so thankful we got to be a part of Amber and Zachary’s amazing day!
