Photographer Chris Beck originally came to Alaska in the US Army. Since getting out of active duty he has spent time living and working in Fairbanks, Valdez, Juneau and Anchorage. Chris’ history with photography got started when he was just a kid and his grandmother bought him a used camera at a second hand store. Since then he has been hooked. For as long as Chris can remember photography has played an active role in his life. When it comes to wedding photography Chris explains what sets a photographer apart is the ability to capture the feeling of the event. “It is my goal to tell your story in a such a way that the feelings and emotions jump out of the photograph at you. Long after the wedding day is over, and the food is eaten, and dress tucked away. It’s the photographs that will remain.” When Chris is not out photographing weddings he can be found out in the backcountry of Alaska with his lab mix Sampson fishing, hiking, skiing or photographing bears.
