On Thursday I took a red-eye flight down to Palm Springs to catch up with Kathy & Martin for their destination wedding in the desert. If this guy looks familiar – it’s probably because he was at your wedding, will be at your wedding, or you will see him at a wedding in the future… Martin is the owner of Alaska Professional Entertainment, a DJ company here in Alaska. He has done hundreds of events, so when he called me up and asked ME to come down to California to shoot his wedding, I was honored to say the least. He could have flown anyone in, or used someone local, but he wanted me there, so that was pretty awesome. I spent 3 days with them, so that’s why you’ll see so many photos below and a lot more of the “behind the scenes” stuff we typically miss when we only spend 5-7 hours with the people on the wedding day. Remember, if you ever want extra coverage, you can always get one of our packages that include that, or a la carte it!
So the day I got in was golf-day for the guys and the nail salon for the girls. I went and met up with both groups and got some fun shots. The next day was the rehearsal and setup, followed by the wedding day on Saturday. To start the day off, we did some getting ready photos, and then went out into the desert to do some bride and groom stuff. I had never been there before, so I used Google Earth and Google Street View to pre-scout my shooting locations. I was able to find a bunch of great spots, including an area of dunes that I never would have found without Google. Love satellites and technology! So useful.. The weather was perfect all day and everything went as planned. Thanks Kathy and Martin for importing me and trusting me to capture everything!
