On Thursday I was at Bird Point for Debbie and Eddie’s wedding. They had it scheduled for late afternoon/early evening, but after I looked at the weather in the morning, I was able to convince them to leave Anchorage early and meet at 2:00 instead of 4:00. It’s a good thing I did – the road closed for almost 9 hours at 2:00pm near Indian due to an accident, and it started pouring rain at about 4:15. This was a small group and a short ceremony, so we everything done before the rain started. Their Anchorage dinner reservations had to be canceled, so I helped them figure out a good Girdwood substitute. Debbie and Eddie came up from Indiana with their sons to get married and see Alaska – it had been a dream for both of them for a long time, so rather than get married at home and do their honeymoon up here, they just did both! They were very kind and appreciative of our work which always makes you feel like you’re doing something good 🙂 Thanks guys!
