I’ve been looking forward to this one for awhile now! I shot Britta & Alex’s engagement photos earlier this year and knew the wedding day was going to be a big hit. We started at Central Lutheran church here in Anchorage, and after the ceremony everyone made the drive up to Willow. The family cabin on Long Lake was as picturesque as they come, and the property had been nicely setup for this special wedding reception.
As the guests were arriving, I was able to get in a nice portrait session of the new couple. All day we had just the right amount of soft, cloudy light which made for some dramatic cloudscapes in many of the shots. Following dinner, we had a rather awesome cake cutting event. Any old cake table wouldn’t do, so we broke out a chainsaw and made a cool one! The chainsaw may have even made it into a cake cutting shot or two! Fun times, and lots of dancing continued well into the evening at this beautiful lakeside setting. Oh, and you’ll notice a couple shots from out on the lake. Yes, I was out there getting the goods from a jet ski! I hope you all enjoy this gallery of some of my favorites from the day.
