On Sunday Chris and I teamed up to shoot Jolene and Aaron’s wedding at Raven Glacier Lodge. This was a super small group, only about 12 in attendance, which made for a very quiet, relaxed, and warm atmosphere. Everyone was able to eat inside at the dining room table and enjoy good conversation as a group. As always, Cathy prepared a feast and left no one hungry! The ceremony was along the creek’s edge and fortunately the sun came out just as things began, which made for some great light! Before the ceremony we took Jolene and Aaron around Girdwood for some “Alaska Scenery” shots, including a trip to the top of the mountain on the tram where we had great views of Turnagain arm, the Chugach, and Kenai Mountains. Jolene and Aaron had always wanted to come to Alaska, and possibly move here in a few years, so rather than make it just a honeymoon trip, they decided to make it a destination wedding AND honeymoon. As you can see in the photos, Aaron is in the Navy, and is a pilot. They really wanted to see Alaska from the air and after they realized I could help show them around, we made a plan to check out McCarthy the day after the wedding. I think they were both surprised at how much distance we covered in a day and how few towns and civilization we saw along the way! A great couple days with two great folks! Hope to see you guys again pulling up in a U-Haul in 3 years!
