On Friday I went up to Arctic Valley with Heather Thamm to shoot Elizabeth & Ben’s wedding. Arctic Valley is one of the coolest places to shoot around the Anchorage area and in typical fashion, it did not dissapoint. We explored some of the lifts and buildings nearby and got some great stuff. After the party got going we drove down the hill to escape the clouds and rain that had settled over the area and then shortly after we got back, it was actually nicer at the top again. Ben and Elizabeth both have interesting jobs – Ben is doing research on ice melt in Greenland by using rivers as a gauge, while Elizabeth works in PR for a company who does work for another company that just spilled a bunch of oil down south. What a cool mix of jobs! I wonder how those dinner conversations go.. I’m trying to get Ben to hook me up with a photo-job in Greenland. I’m sure there’s something there that needs a professional photographers eye.. some rocks or ice or lichens or something.. By the way, that last picture of Elizabeth with the shall around her head is supposed to be our take on the “hopeful-peasent villager” theme. That’s not how she wore it normally.
