On Saturday I was down in Girdwood for Claire and Brian’s wedding at the Our Lady of the Snow’s Chapel followed by a reception at Maxine’s Restaurant. Despite some of the biggest snowflakes I’ve ever seen, Claire and Brian and their wedding party were ok doing some photos outside (briefly) before we found shelter on a covered porch along the main drag of “downtown” Girdwood. They live in Fairbanks but chose Girdwood to get married because Brian’s family was all coming from the lower 48 and it was easier for them. Also, Claire and Brian do a lot of sking so Girdwood was a special place to them already.
